Come enjoy a day of fishing on the beautiful and scenic Umpqua River. Smallmouth Bass fishing is great action. Early in the morning before the sun comes up, the bass are eager to grab poppers or nearly anything you skip across the surface. One of the great things about the bass fishing is their willingness to bite such a large variety of tackle, including fly fishing!
I greatly encourage fly fishing enthusiasts to give this adventure a try. The Smallmouth Bass can be caught all day long, so getting up early is not necessary. The larger bass are more challenging to catch and a 3 to 5 lb. bass is a big one. Anglers of all skill levels can participate, and it makes for a fun family adventure.
The fishing is done from drift boats, which are safe and comfortable. We supply everything except your fishing license. These trips include a shore lunch with the bass you catch. The bass fishing is best during the summer months.
Things to bring on your trip are your fishing license, sunscreen, sunglasses and a good hat for protection from the sun. Appropriate clothing is a windbreaker for the morning and tee shirt and shorts for the afternoon. It’s not likely to rain during the summer months, but watch the weather for possible rain gear scenarios.
Other activities besides your Smallmouth Bass adventure are hiking, biking, rafting and wine tasting at many of the good vineyards and wineries in the Umpqua region.
